Nelumbonaceae are perennial aquatic plants of great economic, nutritional, health and ornamental values in the world, which have been domesticated in Asia about 7,000 years ago, and cultivated for rhizome lotus, seed lotus and flower lotus. It is a characteristic aquatic vegetable with the largest cultivated area in China. The basal Nelumbonaceae family is phylogenetically and evolutionary important for eudicot species. There are only two species within the Nelumbonaceae family, Asian lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) and American lotus (Nelumbo lutea).
The Nelumbonaceae Genome Resource (TNGR) database provided services for four Nelumbonaceae plant genome assemblies, gene models and annotations. TNGR database offering the service of searching for syntenic genes, CRISPR guide sequences, m6A genes, orthologous and paralogous genes, transcription factors, and important functional genes. The Blast, Hmmsearch,JBrowse, Synteny, and Primer Design tools were developed for users. These will facilitate the systematical analysis on Nelumbonaceae plants. Once new genome data was reported, TNGR will be updated and improved in time.
